Sharing with our students the love of the Earth, the importance of it and of resources which sustain our lives – by reading rocks, we understand how our Earth evolved and use the evidence to protect us into the future.  
 
In #therealclassroom students tune into the Earth, their curiosity is ignited and lifelong learning begins.  Awaken the scientist in kids, move them onto deeper thinking and learning in contextually-set, authentic, relevant and meaningful environments and they will apply this knowledge and skills turning situations into solutions:  Hands-on Science, Hands-on Engineering – this is real STEM Learning.

My most rewarding learning experiences have always been those deeply connected to real-world applications, as they’ve equipped me with practical skills for everyday life. With a background in the mining industry and games programming, coupled with experience in Project-Based Learning in schools, I see CoRE as the perfect platform to apply the skills I've developed throughout my own learning journey. I joined the CoRE team to help create hands-on learning opportunities that will prepare students for their future.

Having the privilege of being an alumna of the CoRE program and studying under the multi-award-winning science educator Suzy Urbaniak OAM, I gained not only a significantly greater appreciation for and understanding of Earth Sciences but also countless opportunities to develop my working skills and experience in an ultramodern learning environment.
 
Recognising the significant contribution of Suzy's work to my career, I completed the alumni cycle and returned to work for the Foundation. At CoRE, I aim to expand the reach of its fantastic impact to as many students as possible.

Growing up in Northern Canada, I became a fierce advocate for equal opportunities in education, which meant that teaming up with the not-for-profit CoRE Learning Foundation was important to me.
 
I joined the team to help offer exceptional STEM education and industry opportunities to regional and remote teachers and students in WA Today, I use my stakeholder engagement knowledge, fundraising, and sales experience to help solidify the CoRE Learning Model as a benchmark for hands-on learning in every classroom around Australia.
